Techically speaking, this should be my 200th post including my saved drafts. And it's nice to say i'm celebrating my 200th post for China!
The first spectacular performance started with thousands of man dressed ancient clothes drumming in sync. The drums are carved to specific details painted in gold. A lot of their other performances had shimmering gold to the extent it hurts my eye.
There's this performance with scholars chanting away and it kinda freaked me out. Oh. For people who don't know, the Chinese invented the paper and gunpowder to have it fully utilised by the Americans to create weapons of mass destruction. So there was a dance cum painting(yes, the chinese invented ink) while viewers are serenaded by the sound of Guzheng. Speaking of which, i was actually encourage to learn how to play Guzheng as a kid but i'm musically inclined.
The whole show focused on the culture in the past and how it evolved into the future. There was the emperor carrying the compass (yes, the chinese invented them too) then followed by thousands of concubines truly depicting how emperors lived in the past :P Haha. Then there was the Wushu and Kungfu throwing some kicks and punches into the air.
Some of the other things they invented but not revealed in the ceremony was paper money, chopstick, umbrella and Chinese chess.
I am proud to be Chinese :D
Watching the countries rolling out batches by batches widen my perspectives. Even island can be countries. All you need is money. The biggest batch is from Japan. Only please! Still has the guts to come out :P They might be silently assassinated in the hotel room. Haha.
I WANNA BE THERE NOW. This olympics is different from any other because it's CHINA and i'm CHINESE!
